I first heard The Alchemist in 2004, when he released the single "Hold You Down". At the time I thought he was just rapper. Months after researching his work, I realized he has produced songs that I heard back when he wasn't in my sight. He has produced tracks such as "The Juks" by Ghostface Killah, "Revolutionary Warfare" by Nas, and "We Gonna Make It" by Jadakiss (The song that actually made a Jadakiss fan). His sampling is original yet creative and new. To be honest I'm not a big Prodigy fan, but with his tough, Queens lyrics and The Alchemist's West Coast production intelligence; when it comes to making a song, they can never go wrong. From Prodigy's "Return of the Mac" album to Raekwon's "Surgical Gloves" from his recent album "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II", Alcemist continues to create what see as "Greatness". With his recent album "Chemical Warfare", the word "Stop" doesn't exist in this guy's mind. So to wrap this up, I place Alchemist in my top favorite producers: J Dilla, Madlib, MF DOOM, and Kanye West. Oh No! is the brother of the living legendary producer, Madlib. Don't mistake this guy as a background artist, this guy is no joke. His rhymes are on point, but what really draws my attention is his instrumentals. He has </span>sampled from Turkish, Lebanese, Italian, and Greek psychedelic rock.<span style="font-family:georgia;"> </span><span style="font-family:georgia;">Here are two examples of this kid's brilliance. </span><span style="font-family:georgia;">One song is Guilty Simpson- What to do, a song remixed by Oh No! I haven't heard the original version yet, but I trust it's killin' but not as good as this one. The next song is Mos Def- Supermagic. Mos actually borrowed this beat from one of Oh No!'s instrumental albums. Did Mos make a mistake rhyming on it? No. Did he kill that beat? Fuck yeah!
